16-17 September 2010, Crowne Plaza, Northwood Park, Dublin, Ireland
The international scientific committee invites abstracts from all professionals involved in the care of the orthopaedic patient who wish to share their skills and knowledge with an international audience.
The conference will be comprised of keynote lectures, plenary presentations, concurrent submitted oral presentations, interactive poster sessions, workshops and symposia, and abstracts are invited for all of these sessions. We also welcome and encourage both experienced and first time presenters and offer support and advice in the preparation of abstracts and presentations/posters. Prizes for the best oral presentation and best poster will be sponsored by the International Journal of Orthopaedic & Trauma Nursing (formerly Journal of Orthopaedic Nursing).
Abstracts are invited which:
- Provide insight into orthopaedic and trauma patient needs and experiences
- Explore the role of orthopaedic and trauma nurses in new and established services worldwide
- Address issues affecting orthopaedic and trauma nursing in the past, present and future
- Celebrate innovative individuals, ideas or roles in musculoskeletal care and practice
ICON 2010 will host separate interactive parallel poster sessions as an integral part of the conference programme to enable poster presenters to fully interact and discuss their research with delegates. Concurrent poster sessions will run as part of the full conference programme allowing poster presenters to formally present their work to delegates.
The International Collaboration of Orthopaedic Nursing (ICON) was inaugurated in 2001 and was created for the purpose of advancing the practice of orthopaedic nursing globally. The vision of ICON is a future in which orthopaedic nurses will be responsible for the universal application of the highest standards of orthopaedic nursing practice and care. Its mission is to advance the quality of musculoskeletal care internationally by facilitating the sharing of ideas and collaboration in the areas of orthopaedic nursing research, education, and practice.
In 2010 ICON will be holding its first international orthopaedic and trauma nursing conference in the beautiful city of Dublin. The aim of the conference is to bring orthopaedic and trauma nurses, and other professionals and practitioners linked to musculoskeletal health, from across the globe together to learn, share knowledge and ideas and network and to take steps towards achieving the vision and mission of the organisation.
The conference is sponsored by ICON and organised and supported by the International Journal of Orthopaedic & Trauma Nursing (formerly Journal of Orthopaedic Nursing).
Closing date for abstracts 26th February 2010
